Electra Mining Africa welcomed more than 40 000 visitors. Exhibitors from 15 countries show cased the latest technology in the mining industry. The show focussed on energy efficient and environmental friendly products, including products focused on health and safety goals in the industry. Johan Kaplan, Managing Director for Specialised Exhibitions, organisers of Electra Mining Africa said “The mining industry continues to experience major growth with new ventures, expansions and upgrades, and with South Africa hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup; the country has embarked on major infrastructure projects that demand a massive input of suppliers and machinery. Mega fest International welcomed over 120 000 people on Saturday and Sunday the 11-12 October 2008. The event provided spiritual and physical upliftment. Bishop TD Jakes was moved as he acknowledged change in Africa and most of the world. National and International artists took to the stage proving that we are truly a rainbow nation.
